Aseptika selected for 2016 Medical Device Hotlist from the Council of European BioRegions

Aseptika Limited is one of ten European SME’s to be selected for inclusion in the 2016 Medical Device SME Hotlist, published by the Council of European BioRegions asbl (CEBR). Aseptika are supporting patients to manage long-term respiratory conditions more effectively, which is a high priority for the NHS. The aim is for patients to become experts in their own health and safely manage their condition in the comfort of their own home, with fewer unplanned hospital admissions and a higher overall quality of life.

As a network of 40 life science clusters across Europe, CEBR is dedicated to supporting cluster and SME development. CEBR has developed an online SME Medical Device Directory with its members, which showcases SMEs directly involved in the development of innovative medical devices. The directory, launched in 2016, creates a critical mass of novel technologies from Europe’s SMEs, enabling partners and investors across the World to find the right companies for development.

In spring 2016, CEBR also launched a Hot List process, where cluster managers nominated the medical device SME from within their community that has made the greatest progress since directory launch in June 2016.

March 18 sees the publication of this hotlist, with 10 SMEs nominated by 10 different clusters. The Hotlist SMEs will be showcased in a dedicated webinar on April 11, 2016 at 11:00 CET.

About CEBR Medical Device Directory and Hotlist:

The Council of European BioRegions asbl brings together over 60 SMEs from 11 clusters across Europe in a rapidly growing online directory dedicated to the development of medical devices.  Launched in June 2016, the focus of the directory is on SMEs as developers of their own components or complete devices and has the aim to create a centralised hub for investors and partners to find the right SMEs for global development and distribution.  The 2016 Hotlist celebrates 10 SMEs that have made substantial scientific or business progress since the directory launch in 2016.  It was generated through nominations from the clusters participating in the directory.  The Directory and Hotlist is sponsored in 2016 by Teijin Pharma Ltd.
